How to Apply
The Breast Imaging fellowship participates in the Match program through NRMP.
Interview Period and Match

To apply for the Breast Imaging Fellowship, please submit:
- Completed UI Health Care application or Society for Breast Imaging (SBI Universal Application that can be e-mailed, mailed, or faxed
- Curriculum vitae
- Statement of purpose: Summary of your training background, areas of strengths and interests, and a brief description of how you would hope to utilize and apply your fellowship training
- Three letters of recommendation: letters should come from those persons familiar with your recent training and current professional activities. Please instruct reference individuals to email their letters of recommendation directly to the program coordinator at courtney-bork@uiowa.edu.
- Copy of your ECFMG certificate. For non-residents: We sponsor J-1 and H1-B visas, please mention which you plan to pursue and if you are requesting a 4-year ABR alternate pathway. Ensure you meet eligibility requirements for programs you would like to include in your alternate pathway: https://www.acgme.org/specialties/radiology/program-requirements-and-faqs-and-applications/
- Copies of USMLE steps 1, 2, and 3 transcripts

After your application is complete, it will be reviewed and a decision made regarding an invitation to interview. In addition to applying directly to the fellowship program, you will also need to register for the NRMP Match.
Criteria for Candidacy
All applicants must have completed a Radiology Residency program prior to submitting an application, as well as their USMLE steps 1, 2 and 3. Ability to obtain a resident medical license in the State of Iowa: https://dial.iowa.gov/licenses/medical/physician#eligibility. Candidates are preferably in the process of preparing for certification in the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
