Division of Interventional Neuroradiology

The Interventional Neuroradiology Division provides comprehensive care to patients with diseases and disorders of the brain and spine and their vasculature, including brain aneurysms, stroke and vascular malformations. The approach is minimally invasive using state-of-the-art devices under imaging guidance.  These often involve catheter and wire based techniques with a short stay for the recovery.  Patients may be seen in clinic for consultation.
The common diseases and procedures are as follows:

  • Diagnostic cerebral angiography
  • Intracranial aneurysm coiling and stenting
  • Arteriovenous malformations/fistulas(AVM/AVF) embolizations
  • Carotid artery stenosis balloon angioplasty and stenting
  • Venous occlusive disease
  • Head and neck tumors
  • Epistaxis
  • Spine vascular malformations/fistulas(AVM/AVF) embolizations

As a part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center, the patient care may be provided collaboratively with Neurosurgery Department.
